What do we mean by Sportstech?
We define Sportstech broadly as technologies and innovations that stimulate physical activity, motion, health and wellness, athletes performance, sports analytics and competition, clubs and sports industry management, fan engagement and e-sports. Having analyzed innovations in the sector, we have identified six key areas that we see as relevant investment dimensions for TheFactory Sportstech Fund:

TheFactory Sportstech Fund (TFSF) represents a unique investment opportunity to invest in qualified and carefully selected ideas at the intersection of sports, industry, and technology.
The fund provides unique exposure to Nordic startups and scale-ups with high growth potential in areas related to sports, public health, and the sports industry – one of the world’s fastest-growing technology sectors.
Investing in the fund offers diversification into a rapidly growing industry and a portfolio of selected companies in the startup and scale-up phases with various revenue models. This, in turn, provides significant upside potential and reduces risk compared to making individual investments.

Sportstech is the fastest-growing venture vertical in the tech world today, with an expected annual growth rate of 21% through 2028. With our Sportstech fund and program, we aim to invest in top new Nordic sportstech companies with global potential. Through the fund, you will be part of this growth wave and gain close access to our selected deal flow.

TheFactory Sportstech Fund invests in early-stage Nordic sportstech companies, primarily at the pre-seed and seed stages.
The fund is actively managed and provides companies with access to capital, expertise, and a global network, including the potential for participation in TheFactory Sportstech Academy.

We have a targeted strategy for the fund and will invest in startup and early-growth phase companies, primarily in the Nordic region. We have identified an exciting deal flow of innovative sportstech companies that we aim to invest in and develop. We look forward to refining our growth strategy under our active management.
Investment Criteria: Early-stage technology companies within the sportstech sector, with high growth potential and a unique competitive advantage.
Investment Target: 50 MNOK
Fund Lifetime: 10 years
Investment Horizon: 3 years
Geography: Primarily the Nordic region, with the possibility of individual investments in Europe and North America.
Ownership Role: Active investor with a requirement for a board seat in startups and an ideal ownership stake of 2-15%, and an ideal ownership stake of 5-10% in scaleups.
Planned Allocation of the Fund's Capital:
30% to Startups
Investment Size: 0.25-3 MNOK
50% to Scaleups
Investment Size: 1-5 MNOK
20% to Follow-on Investments

Fund Name: TheFactory Sportstech Fund AS
Fund Type: Registered AIF fund aimed at professional investors
Management: TheFactory Sportstech Fund is managed by TheFactory Asset Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of TheFactory. TheFactory Asset Management AS consults with an advisory board, investment committee, and the board of Asset Management, which includes Preben Otter Steen, Vibeke Gwendoline Fængsrud, and Lars Martin Haavik.
The portfolio is managed by TheFactory Asset Management AS, a specialized fund management and advisory company with an experienced team in early-stage venture capital. The management team is based in Norway and is authorized and regulated in Norway by the Financial Supervisory Authority (Finanstilsynet).
The company leverages the management team's experience, sector expertise, and network to drive value creation in the portfolio companies.
Additionally, the management team consults with an advisory panel with specialized knowledge in sports and the sports industry.

TheFactory Asset Management AS will serve as the fund manager for TheFactory Sportstech Fund (AIF) in accordance with AIFM regulations.
The manager will also be responsible for providing administrative, company secretarial, and marketing services to the fund. This will include general fund administration services (including the calculation of NAV based on data provided by the portfolio manager, accounting, and preparation of financial statements).
The manager is authorized and regulated in Norway by the Financial Supervisory Authority (Finanstilsynet).
